Man, I love this industry. It alternately lifts me up and breaks my heart, and some days, it lifts me up as it’s breaking my heart.
Was chatting (okay, ranting) to a fellow author about a set of completely incomprehensible instructions from an agent/publisher. For the life of us, we have no idea what they’re actually asking for. I mean, we recognize the terminology but it’s being used in ways never before imagined.
And I had to laugh and be thankful.
This really is a crazy, wonderful industry, and it’s a terribly hard one, too. I’m just grateful I have friends around me who will shake their heads in sync to my head shaking, who help me map out paths and avoid pitfalls, who make being on the front lines kind of a fun thing, actually¦
