I’m beginning to see a pattern in my work: when I start a new manuscript, it’s a very awkward, almost painful, little dance. I’m not sure how the characters will manifest their personalities, not certain how the plot will overlay on the text…I’m not certain of the steps and I find the process is more left-brain than right…

Do other writer have this problem? You want to write, you know what it is you’re writing—it’s not really a case of writer’s block as much as it’s…I don’t know…the awkward writing shuffle?
