Was watching a trailer for the new Alex Cross movie and Tyler Perry was playing the lead role¦it reminded me of an interview I’d seen with him on Oprah. He talked about his first foray into the arts, how he’d sunk his life savings into a play, spent all his money and no one showed up (or I think it was 10 people in a 200 person auditorium).
He talked about being devastated, living in his car, feeling like a complete failure”so much so, he seriously contemplated suicide. Perry didn’t kill himself. Instead he tried again and fast forwards 20 years or so, and he’s the lead role in multi-million dollar movie, owns an island¦
It reminds me of something Calvin Coolidge said: œThe slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
