I’m doing my first blitz for my contribution to the Fairy Tale Anthology, and I decided the setting should be the 80s.
I’ve started doing research, and have been watching Hart to Hart, Remington Steele, MacGyver, and listening to the likes of Hall and Oates, Bryan Adams and Corey Hart in the name of said research.
God, I love being a writer!
And MAN, I miss the 80s. I know the shows were simplistic, but I miss the easy lines and rough innocence. Good was good, bad was bad. You know the villain because he was always slightly sweaty and dirty looking.
Of course, there are things I don’t miss, namely, the hero wresting the gun out of the heroine’s hands as she shrieks and swoons into him, but I guess you just gotta take the good with the bad.
Still…aren’t there days you just wish you could flip on the television and rather than hearing about a politician setting up another politician for disaster, or a celebrity being picked up for DUI and crack possession, or a wrestler offing his entire family, wouldn’t it be grand to flip the ‘on’ button and hear the theme from Love Boat?
